Description

APPLICATION FILED JAN. 12, 1914.
Patented Dec. 15, 1914.
WITNESSES w 2:. Ad
MOSES B. FRUMER'AND MORRIS SHERMAN, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
TRAP-HOLDER FOR MILK AND OTHER BOTTLES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 15, 1914.
Application filed January 12, 1914. Serial No. 811,535.
To all whom "it may concern Be it known that we, Mosns B. FRUMER and Mourns SHERMAN, both citizens of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have jointly invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trap-Holders for Milk and other Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention has relation to a trapholder for milk or other bottles operatively connected with a door framing, consisting of a spring controlled hinged holder adapted to be held in an operative position by the door when opened inward and the holder when not loaded flapping against the back of the door by the closing automatically or otherwise of the door, whereby is provided a simple device to protect milk and other filled bottles placed in the holder from being abstracted.
Our invention stated in general terms, consists of a trap-holder for bottles arranged in substantially the manner hereinafter described and claimed.
The nature and scope of our present invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, in which Figure 1, is a perspective view of a trapholder for supporting bottles, showing the spring controlled trap door in an open position supporting the bottle-holder in an operative position; the said View illustrat ing the main features of our invention. Fig. 2, is a front elevational view of the same; and Fig. 3, is a vertical longitudinal sectional view of the device, showing the door in a closed condition and in rear the holder supporting a milk or other bottle.
Referring to the drawings, a, is the door framing having a spring controlled hinge latch door a for engaging a keeper (1. of a key-lock at b, is a bottle holder hinged at 17 to the framing a, as clearly illustrated in Figs. 1 and 3. The holder at one end is formed into a receptacle b ,'to hold the bottle. In
the forward part of the holder is provided an oblong opening I), in which is mounted an arched spring 0, secured at one end to the framing a, and at the opposite end under the holder 6. When the door a is in an open position as in Fig. 1, and it is released from such position, it will at once snap against the framing a, and become locked and the holder will follow the closing of the door and snap against the back of the 0 door if not loaded, while if loaded with a filled bottle, any efiort to close the door will not disturb the position of the loaded holder, but it will be maintained in the position as clearly illustrated in Fig. 3, with the door locked to the framing a, as therein shown.
Having thus described the nature and object of our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 7 A holder of the character described, comprising a framing, a spring actuated door hinged thereto, .a holder hinged to said framing for supporting a bottle in a ver tical position and a flat spring at one end '7 connected with said framing and at the opposite end connected with said holder and said door in an open position arranged to maintain said holder in an operative position to receive the bottle, osubstantially as and for the purpose described.
In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our signatures in the presence of the two subscribing witnesses.
MOSES 'B. FRUMER. MORRIS SHERMAN.
lVitnesses HARRY N. BRENNER, J. WALTER DOUGLASS.
