HUNTING-BREECHES.
oeaeaa.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June a, 1914.
Application filed December 5, 1910; Serial No. 595,819.
To all whom it may, concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL J. FUIKs, citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hunting-Breeches, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to huntingbreeches and has for its object to provide gathers or folds in the front leg-section of each leg at or near the knee, for the purpose of creating a fullness or puckering of the garment in proximity to the knee joint.
A further object of the invention is to provide reinforcing portions for the'front leg-sections and for the seat of said breeohes, said reinforced front portions and main front leg-sections being gathered at approximately the knee-joint to produce a fullness at the knee. 1
My invention comprises the novel features hereinafter described, and particularly set' forth in the appended claim.
In the drawings :Figure 1 is a front view of my improved hunting breeohes; Fig. 2 is a rear view of the same; Fig. 3 is a somewhat enlarged front View of a portion of one of the legs at the knee; Fig. 4 is a cross section on the line H of Fig. 3, and Fig. 5 is a cross-section on the line 55 Of 3. i 1
Like characters of reference denote corresponding parts throughout the figures.
The breeohes are designated generally'as 1, having the front leg-sections 2 and the rear leg-sections 3 suitablyconnected. The leg-sections, front and rear, are intended to fit snugly around the lower limb portions of the wearer and are shaped to accomplish this end and are detached or separated for a portion of their length, as at t, and adapted to be buttoned together as at 5, one portion having buttons and the overlapping? portion having button-holes. Such construction makes provision for fitting the loWer-leg-portions. of the breeohes over high top shoes when such are worn, or within such shoes without the usual fullness and inconvenience found in ordinary breeohes. Generally the make up of the breeohes may be of the usual outline and form.
6 denote supplemental or reinforced front leg-sections covering the greaterportions of the main front leg-sections 2 of the breeohes, starting from a point just beneath the knee, and 7 denotes a supplemental or reinforced seat portion, which may or maynot be a part of the reinforced front portions 6.
At points 8 on either side ofthe front legsections 2, in the vicinity of theknee, the material is gathered or laid in folds, see Fig. 4:, creating a fullness 9, see Fig. 5; also in the supplemental or reinforced portions 6, the material is gathered or laid in folds as at 10, see Figs. 1, 3 and 4, creating a fullness 11, see Fig. 5. The gathers 8 and 10 in the respective portions 2 and 6 of the breeohes, preferably coincide, as does the fullness 9 and 11 in such portions.
Those who hunt considerably, whether they use breeohes especially made for hunting or. who use their ordinary clothing, find that the breeohes bind over the knee; especially is this true if the lower portions of the legs are secured around the limb in high top shoes or boots. My invention obviates this difficulty, by producing the necessary fullness where required, facilitating the use of the knee with perfect ease and without binding, while at the same time adding strength to the garment where needed.
What I claim is a Hunting breeohes having the front legsections permanently gathered in proximity to the knee-portion to create a fullness in the garment at this point, and reinforcing front-leg portions, also permanently gathered in proximity to the knee-portion tocreate a fullness to correspond to the fullness in the front leg-sections.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in resence of two witnesses.
SAMUEL J. FUIKSQ Witnesses WARD A. CUGLEBERGER, A. Le ROY McCAnonLL.
