  • 10 designates the body of the carrier, constructed of leather or other suitable flexible material, which is generally triangular ,in construction. At the forward end of the same is an opening 11 with beveled edges 12, which is adapted to receive the point of the bob, and has a slit 13 extending rearwardly therefrom to allow the bob to be more easily inserted therein. To either side of the slit 18, are spaced perforations 1 1 and 15 the use of which will be hereinafter described. Divergent members 16 and 17 with perforations 18 and 19, in the extremities thereof extend rearwardly of the opening 11 and situated therebetween is a tongue 20, with an opening 21 which is designed to receive the head of the bob.

personal injury to the user and also injury to the bob itself.
Another object of the invention is a provision of a device of this character for the convenient attachment and detachment of a plumb-bob.
A further object of the invention is a provision of a carrier which will be simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in operation and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim; it being understood that changes in the specific structure shown and described may be made within the scope of the claim without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawings forming a portion of this specification in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, Figure 1 shows the prepared blank from which the device is to be constructed, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the device applied to a portion of a belt, Fig. 3 is a sectional view on line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawings by numerals, 10 designates the body of the carrier, constructed of leather or other suitable flexible material, which is generally triangular ,in construction. At the forward end of the same is an opening 11 with beveled edges 12, which is adapted to receive the point of the bob, and has a slit 13 extending rearwardly therefrom to allow the bob to be more easily inserted therein. To either side of the slit 18, are spaced perforations 1 1 and 15 the use of which will be hereinafter described. Divergent members 16 and 17 with perforations 18 and 19, in the extremities thereof extend rearwardly of the opening 11 and situated therebetween is a tongue 20, with an opening 21 which is designed to receive the head of the bob. The members 16 and 17 are bent rearwardly and downwardly until th perforations 18 and 19 correspond'respectively with the perforations l4 and 15 to form loops with which the device is at tached to a belt; the alined openings receiving rivets or other suitable fastening members 22.
To operate the device the tongue 20, is bent forward until the opening 21, is in alinement with the opening 11 in the body of the carrier, the latter receiving the point A of the bob as stated while the opening 11 is engaged over the head 13, as illustrated in the drawings.
What is claimed is As-an article of manufacture a plumb-bob carrier formed of a triangular blank, provided with an opening near its apex for the reception of a bob point, and having its rearward portion formed to produce divergent members and an intervening tongue, said tongue having an opening for the reception of a bob head, and being movable to register its opening with the first named opening, said members being secured at their ends to the blank between the openings to form belt receiving loops.
