Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the compositions of slag-forming mixtures used in the continuous casting of steel.
The aim of the invention is to improve the surface quality of the ingot.
In tab. 1 shows examples of the composition of the proposed slag-forming mixture. The content of titanium oxide in the slag used to prepare mixtures 1-4 was 9.9.6 and 12%, respectively.
In tab. Table 2 presents data on the properties of the slag-forming mixture and its slag melt, as well as the results of testing the mixture according to the invention during continuous casting of low-alloyed steel of 09G2 and 14G2 type in a section of 250x150 mm.
As follows from the data of Table 2, due to the additional content of titanium containing blast furnace slag, the proposed mixture has lower temperatures of the beginning and end of melting, and the slag melt of the mixture is characterized by low viscosity.
As a result, when using the mixture, continuously cast billets with improved surface quality are obtained, as evidenced by the slight separation of billets by cracks and the shallow depth of the slag inclusions. It should be noted that there are no defects in the form of gas bubbles in the blanks.
Mix consumption 0.8-1.2 kg / t steel.
