Abstract
The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to compositions of slag-forming mixtures used primarily for continuous casting of titanium-containing steels. The purpose of the invention is to improve the quality of the surface of the workpieces and reduce the content of non-metallic inclusions in Steel - achieved by using a slag-forming mixture containing, in wt.%: Nepheline 10-15; graphite 5-10; soluble sodium silicate 5-10; calcium fluoride 5-2-Q; potassium hexafluorotitanate 10-15; ferrochrome slag - the rest. The mixture with potassium hexafluorotitanate is characterized by lower values of the melting temperature range (1062-1099 ° C), its slag melt has a low viscosity (0.015-0.025 Pa-s) and surface tension (0.305-0.310 N / m). As a result, a relatively small pull force of the workpiece (7.70-7.78 tons) is required, which contributes to the reduction of the surface crack index to 0.24-0.31 pieces / m2. The physical characteristics of the slag melt mixture provide an increase in its assimilating capacity, which leads to a decrease in the content of titanium oxides and nitrides in steel. Mix consumption rate 0.9-1.1 kg / t steel. 2 tab.
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to compositions of slag-forming mixtures used primarily for continuous casting of titanium-containing steels.
The aim of the invention is to improve the surface quality of the workpieces and reduce the content of non-metallic inclusions in steel.
Potassium hexafluorotitanate (GOST 9655-65) for self-dissolving ferrochromic slag is used to prepare the mixture according to the invention.
Sodium silicate, soluble calcium fluoride and dried to a moisture content of not more than 0.5% and ground in ball mills to fractions of not more than 0.1 mm.
In tab. 1 shows examples of the proposed feV.bix composition of the slag-forming mixture.
Table 2 presents data on the properties of the slag-forming mixture and its melt, as well as the results of testing the mixture during continuous casting of titanium-containing steels of grades 09-10G2BT and 08G2T in a slab section (250-300) x (1650-1850) mm with a speed of 0.7-0.8 m / min
As follows from the data table. 2, the introduction of potassium hexafluorotitanate into the mixture allows
It is not possible to obtain a composition with low values of the melting temperature range. Slag melt of the mixture is characterized by lower values of viscosity and surface tension, which contributes to a reduction in the efforts to stretch the workpiece and an increase in the assimilating capacity with respect to nonmetallic inclusions in steel. As a result, conditions are provided for obtaining continuously cast billets with an improved surface quality, affected by the minimum number of defects in the form of cracks, and the content in the metal of insignificant amounts of oxides and nitrides of titanium.
Mix consumption rate 0.9-1.1 kg / t steel.
