Abstract

1, 061, 873. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. EVERSHARP Inc. March 12, 1965 [Sept. 1, 1964], No. 10578/65. Heading F1R. A heat-exchanger device for heating or cooling the liquid, e.g. shaving lather, dispensed by a pressurized dispensing container comprises a chamber 3, e.g. of aluminium or copper, mounted on the container valve stem 2, and having an elongated tortuous conduit formed by a spirally disposed metal strip 10 which directs the discharged liquid from valve stem outlet 6 to outlet spout 8, chamber 3 being heated, e.g. by holding it in a stream of hot water, before the liquid is discharged therethrough. A shroud 13 surrounds chamber 3, and has inlet and outlet openings 14, 15 for through-flow of hot water around chamber 3. A hinged valve-operating member 16 is formed on shroud 13. Spout 8 is crimped at 12 to prevent slip. The tortuous conduit alternatively may be formed by embossing or abrazing a shaped channel in a metal plate, and using a flat or channelled plate to close the channel.
