Abstract

1,184,986. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORP. May 2, 1968, No.20833/68. Heading F1R. A pressurized dispensing container, e. g. for shaving lather, has a heat-exchanger mounted on its discharge valve stem comprising a metal casing 17 with a crimped-on top 18 and an insert 11 of sintered porous metal, e. g. sintered aluminium particles, a barrier member 15 being located over the inlet 21 to direct lather discharged from the container through porous insert 11 to an outlet 26. The heat exchanger is heated by holding it under running hot tap water. Member 15 may be solid or hollow and may be of aluminium or copper. In Fig. 3 (not shown), member 15 is of reduced diameter and located in central passage 13 of insert 11, and a ring member surrounds the insert. In Fig. 4 (not shown), central passage 13 comprises a recess, the closed end of which is sealed by burnishing, or by a coating. A removable or fixed cap, Fig. 1 (not shown), may be provided on the container over the heat-exchanger, and may have inlet and outlet openings for heating water.
