Abstract

A heating device for the discharged contents of a pressurized dispensing container, e.g. for shaving foam, comprises a chamber 60 e.g. of aluminium, containing a mass of thermally-conductive spheroidal bodies, inert with respect to the product to be dispensed, e. g. aluminium shot between 0À05" and 0À25" in diameter, in firm frictional engagement and providing a multiplicity of passageways for the container contents between a chamber inlet 64 and a discharge nozzle 44, chamber 60 being mounted on a dispensing container by a snap-fitting skirt 30, and being heated, e. g. by immersion in hot water. A container discharge valve-actuating member 32 is pulled outwardly from its latched position shown, and is depressed to open discharge valve 20 Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). Member 32 acts through a sleeve 70 connecting container valve stem 22 to chamber inlet stem 64, the sleeve being a sliding fit on stem 64. The heating device is formed by placing chamber 60 upside down in a die, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), placing retainer screens 108, 112 and shot 110 in the chamber, and applying pressure to plate 112 by means of a plunger to compress the shot.
