Inventia se refera la un procedeu pentru obtinerea în flux continuu de alcooli inferiori cu 3...5 atomi de carbon, prin hidrogenarea catalitica a olefinelor inferioare cu 3...5 atomi de carbon, în prezenta unui schimbator de cationi puternic acid, drept catalizator care este dispus ca pat fix, la o temperatura de aproximativ 120...180 degree C si o presiune de aproximativ 40...200 at, îndepartarea fluxului de produs si separarea alcoolului format din fluxul de produs, precum si reticularea apei de proces, conform caruia, în proces se adauga continuu 2...100 ppm tensida cationica aleasa dintre clorura de dimetilpalmitilamoniu, clorura de cetiltrimetilamoniu, clorura de laurildimetilbenzilamoniu si fosfat de oxietilalchilamoniu.
