Abstract

Inventia se refera la un procedeu pentru obtinerea clorului si hidroxidului de sodiu prin electroliza clorurii de sodiu într-o celula electrolitica, prevazuta cu o membrana dintr-un polimer schimbator de cation, cel putin unul dintre electrozi fiind fixat de membrana într-o pluralitate de puncte. Procedeul consta în electroliza unei saramuri concentrate, continînd 300g/l ClNa, cu o puritate de cel putin 2 ppm, de preferinta 0,5 ppm, continut total de ioni Ca++, Mg++, acidulata cu acid clorhidric 0,25 M într-o celula în care cel putin unul din electrozi este în contact direct cu membrana în care este înglobat, astfel ca reactia electrolitica are loc direct la interfata electrod/membrana, potentialul aplicîndu-se electrodului legat de membrana prin intermediul unui colector de curent conductor de electroni a carui suprafata este presata pe electrod, dar a carui structura este separata de acesta, suprafata colectorului de curent avînd o supratensiune pentru hidrogen sau clor mai mare decît aceea a electrodului, electroliza avînd loc la densitati de curent cuprinse între 21,5 si 43 în baza 2A/dm2, de preferinta 32,5 A/dm2, sub o tensiune de curent cuprinsa între 2,9 si 3,6 V, la temperaturi de la 35 pîna la 90 degree C, eficienta curentului catodic fiind de 88 pîna la 92%.
