Abstract

Se proporciona un proceso hidrometalurgico para la extraccion selectiva de uno o mas metales objetivo a partir de minerales, concentrados, relaves, escorias u otros solidos metaliferos, combinando simultaneamente lixiviacion con sorcion en el estado de solidos humedos. La sorcion se realiza por medio de sorbentes tales como resinas de intercambio ionico, carbon activado, zeolitas, entre otros, y sus mezclas. El proceso comprende las etapas de: (a) mezclar los solidos metaliferos con agentes de lixiviacion acidos o basicos, uno o mas sorbentes y una cantidad suficiente de una solucion acuosa para humedecer sustancialmente tanto los solidos metaliferos como el sorbente sin formar una suspension, para obtener asi solidos humedos; (b) realizar lixiviacion y sorcion en solidos humedos; (c) diluir los solidos humedos y preparar una pulpa por medio de la adicion de una solucion acuosa; (d) separar el sorbente cargado de la pulpa; (e) eluir (desorber) los metales objetivo desde el sorbente cargado con un eluyente a un eluato, retornando a continuacion el sorbente de regreso a la etapa de mezclado (a); y (f) recuperar los metales objetivo desde el eluato para obtener uno o mas productos metalicos finales, retornando el eluyente de regreso a la etapa de elucion (e). La invencion tiene como ventaja principal mejorar la recuperacion de metales a una tasa reducida de consumo de agentes de lixiviacion
