Abstract
Sammendrag De utførelser som er beskrevet her gjelder fremgangsmåter og systemer for gruppering av pilotsignaler og bruk av slik gruppering for rapportering av signalstyrken av og dessuten for settstyring for sett som omfatter pilotsignaler, i kommunikasjonssystemer som bruker flere bærere. Et aksessnett kan tildele en gruppeidentifikator ("gruppe-ID") til hvert av pilotsignalene som hører til en sektor i et dekningsområde, for eksempel basert på dekningsareal. Deretter sendes pilotsignalene med den tilhørende gruppeidentifikator. Såkalte 'PN-offset"-verdier kan brukes som gruppeidentifikator. En aksessterminal kan gruppere pilotsignalene som mottas i en eller flere pilotgrupper, i samsvar med deres gruppeidentifikasjon og velge representative pilotsignaler fra hver pilotgruppe for rapportering av signalstyrken. Aksessterminalen kan også bruke for å utføre en effektiv settstyring.
