Abstract
En forbrenningsmotor med et topplokk (10)som avgrenser i det minste en del av et hovedforbrenningskammer (14). Hovedforbrenningskammeret (14) er bestemt for å motta en fortynnet forbrenningsblanding. Et hjelpeforbrenningshulrom (36) i topplokket har en åpen ende i fluidforbindelse med forbrenningskammeret (14). Hjelpeforbrenningshulrommet (36) er bestemt for å motta en del av den fortynnede forbrenningsblanding fra forbrenningskammeret gjennom den åpne ende slik at i det vesentlige hele den fortynnede forbrenningsblanding mottatt i hjelpeforbrenningshulrommet er den fortynnede forbrenningsblanding mottatt fra forbrenningskammeret (14). I noen utførelsesformer er en tenningskilde (18) i hjelpeforbrenningshulrommet (36) i en ende motsatt den åpne ende.
