Slitebane (1) forsynt med en mengde utskjæringer (5,6,71,72,73,81,82,83) med hovedsakelig tversgående orientering ogat: - når den er ny, danner noen av de tversgående utskjæringene (5,6) på rulleflatens hule soner med gjennomsnittlig bredde Lt større enn eller lik 2 mm og med maksimal dybde Pt på det meste lik 80% av tykkelsen Pb av slitebanen som skal slites, de andre tversgående utskjæringene (71,72,73,81,82,83) danner på den samme rulleflaten innsnitt (71',72',73',81',82',83') med gjennomsnittlig bredde Li mindre enn 2 mm og en dybde Pi på det meste lik Pt, - en mengde av innsnitt (71\72\73',81',82',83') forlenget av hule soner (71",72",73",81",82",83") slik at volumet VI til de hule sonene (71",72",73",81",82",83") som munner ut på den nye rulleflaten er mellom 50% og 150% av volumet V0 dannet av de hule sonene når de er nye etter homogen slitasje av slitebanen.
