Abstract
En hurtigvoksende metanotrof, bakteriestamme i stand til å vokse på et Cl - karbonsubstrat, er blitt isolert og. Stammen har den unike evne til å bruke både metan og metanol som eneste karbonkilde, og har demonstrert å inneha en funksjonell Embden-Meyerhof karbonreaksjonsvei. Besittelsen av denne reaksjonsvei gir en energifordel til stammen og gjør den spesielt passende som en produksjonsplattform for produksjon av biomasse fra en Cl -karbonkilde.
