Description
Fremgangsmåte ved fremstilling av herdbare materialer.
Epoxyforbindelsene danner flytende til faste harpikser som i den ikke-herdede tilstand bare byr på begrensede anvendelsesmuligheter. Frem-ragende egenskaper får de først etter herdning. For dette formål anvendes herdemidler av polyaddisjonstypen (f. eks. polyaminer og anhydrider av polycarboxylsyrer) eller nu spesielt ione-katalysatorer.
Av ione-katalysatorene er det Eriedel-Krafts-katalysatorene som har størst betydning, såsom metallhalogenidene (f. eks. SbCl^, SnCl^, TiCl^, AlClj), borfluorid og dets komplekser (se f. eks. franske patenter 1 205 481, 1 222 097, og 1 225 123, tysk patent 1 062 008, østerriske patenter 210 144
og 210 147 og britisk patent 792 702). En stor ulempe er deres betydelige reaktivitet og den dermed forbundne korte bestandighet av det katalyserte sys-tem, som ved romtemperatur maksimalt består i noen minutter. Disse u-
lemper hefter ikke ved kompleksene av borfluorid med aminer (f. eks. U.S. patent 2 717 885 og britisk patent 792 702) som ikke reagerer med epoxydforbindelser ved romtemperatur. Herdning finner først sted ved forhøyet temperatur, f. eks. i løpet av 30 minutter ved 120°C slik at disse ikke kan anvendes med epoxydkomposisjoner som herdes ved lav temperatur. Ytterligere felles ulemper ved de to katalysatortyper av borfluorid som reagerer ved lav eller ved forhøyet temperatur, er deres vanskelige og krevende frem-stillingsmåte. Man går ved fremstillingen ut fra gasaformig borfluorid eller kaliumborfluorid og boroxyd med svovelsyre. Den apparatur som anvendes, må være av et meget korrosjonsfast materiale, da reaksjonen først forløper ved temperaturer høyere enn 200°C.
Ved hjelp av den foreliggende oppfinnelse er det nu blitt mulig å eli-minere de ovennevnte ulemper. Oppfinnelsen består i en fremgangsmåte ved fremstilling av herdbare komposisjoner inneholdende epoxydforbindelser eller andre cykliske oxyder, eller blandinger derav med lavmolekylære reaktive stoffer og høymolekylære stoffer, foruten ione-katalysatorer, oppløs-ningsmidler, myknere, fyllstoffer og andre additiver. Det karakteristiske ved fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen består i at epoxydkomposisjonen,
før den egentlige forarbeidelse finner sted, blandes med en likevektsblanding som er fremstilt ved omsetning av borsyre eller boroxyd med flussyre, og som tilsettes enten alene eller i nærvær av oppløsningsmidler eller bærere for katalysatoren og, på i og for seg kjent måte, reaksjonsforsinkende stoffer.
Der anvendes en likevektsblanding hvor forholdet bor: oxygen er maksimalt 1:20 og med fordel er fra 1:4 til 1:10. For å oppnå forsinkelse tilsettes likevektsblandingen nitrogenholdige stoffer i en sådan mengde at forholdet bor:nitrogen blir 1:0, 1-2. Eventuelt avdestilleres samtidig vannet fra reaksjonsblandingen. Som nitrogenholdige stoffer kan der anvendes ammoniakk og salter derav, aminer, amider av carboxylsyrer og carbonsyre, aminosyrer, lactamer og cyan- og nitrogenholdige heterocycliske forbindelser. Epoxydkomposisjonen tilsettes likevektsblandingene sammen med organiske syrer eller metallsåper. Som organiske syrer benyttes alifatiske, ali-cycliske eller aromatiske carbon-, sulfon- eller sulfinsyrer, som med fordel kan ha 6 - 16 carbonatomer. Som metallsalter benyttes nafthenater, octoater og oleater av metaller.
Ionekatalysatoren oppløses i monomere eller polymere heterocycliske oxygenforbindelser. Som polymere oppløsningsmidler kan der anvendes modifiserte og ikke-modifiserte lavmolekylære polymerisater og sampoly-merisater av alkylenoxyder, epihalogenhydriner og hydrerte furanforbindelser.
Lavmolekylære reaktive stoffer som tilsettes til epoxydkomposisjonen, er umettede, polymeriserbare monomere, spesielt styren og estere av acryl- og methacrylsyre. Høymolekylære stoffer er termoplastiske og termoreaktive, syntetiske harpikser, såsom f. eks. polyvinylacetater, polyvinylklorid, polyvinylacetat, oljemodifiserte alkydharpikser, estere av epoxydharpikser, fenolharpikser, aminoharpikser og siliconer.
Epoxydkomposisjoner fremstilt etter fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen, har en rekke fordeler sammenlignet med de hittil kjente herdbare epoxydkomposisjoner. Således er epoxydkomposisjoner fremstilt etter fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen f. eks. mer bestandige, slik at de lett og uten fare lar seg forarbeide uten at der inntrer for tidlig gelering. Ved end-ring av katalysator sammensetningen kan der fremstilles epoxydkomposisjoner som herder først ved forhøyet temperatur. Deres reaktivitet kan reguleres etter ønske ved tilsetning av stoffer som sinker ionekatalysatorenes reaksjon. En ytterligere fordel er den enkle og bekvemme fremstilling av ionekatalysatorene, idet det ikke er nødvendig med noen kostbar apparatur slik som ved fremstillingen av gassformig borfluorid. De herdede epoxydkomposisjoner har forbedrede mekaniske egenskaper og varmebestandighet og gir, når de anvendes som overtrekkskomposisjoner, overtrekk med over-flater av forbedret kvalitet.
Ionekatalysatorene som anvendes ved nærværende oppfinnelse, er likevektsblandinger som fremstilles ved omsetning av borsyre eller boroxyd med flussyre eller ut fra forbindelser som tilsvarer disse. Reaksjonen for-løper ved romtemperatur eller også ved forhøyet temperatur og utføres med fordel ved 70°C. Forholdet mellom utgangsmaterialet velges således at der i likevektsblandingen fås et forhold bor:oxygen som maksimalt er 1:20 og som med fordel er fra 1:4 til 1:10.
Forlengelsen av varigheten av likevektsblandingen oppnås ved tilsetning av nitrogenholdige stoffer, slik at forholdet bor:nitrogen blir 1:0, 1-2. Som nitrogenholdige stoffer anvendes alifatiske aminer (dimethylamin, tri-ethylamin, monoethanolamin, triethanolamin, dimethylaminoethanol), aromatiske aminer (anilin, m-fenylendiamin, benzidin, benzyldimethylamin), heterocycliske nitrogenforbindelser (pyridin, picolin, collidin, indol, piperidin, kinolin, acridin), amider av carboxylsyrer og amider av carbonsyre (urea, guanidin), ammoniakk og ammoniumsalter (klorid, sulfat og karbo-nat). Blandingene av disse nitrogenforbindelser med katalysatoren utføres ved romtemperatur, vanligvis i nærvær av oppløsningsmidler. Videre er det mulig å avdrive det tilstedeværende vann fra blandingen og derved å øke katalysatorens reaktivitet eller å avdestillere det anvendte oppløsningsmiddel.
For lettere å kunne regulere ionekatalysatorens reaksjon tilsettes epoxydkomposisjonen også inntil 10% organiske syrer eller metallsåper. Egnede er carboxylsyrer (linolen-, linol-, palmitin-, ricinusolje-, capron-, laurin-, abietin-, benzoe-, o-fthal-, isofthal-, terefthal-, salicyl-, o-tolu-yl-, nafthalinsyre- og nitrobenzoesyre), videre sulfonsyrer (benzensulfon-, benzendisulfon-, p-toluensulfon-, nafthalinsulfon, toluendisulfon- og xylen-sulfonsyre) og sulfinsyrer (p-toluensulfin-, og nafthalinsulfinsyre). Av metallsåper kommer i betraktning nafthenater, octoater, oleater, linolater og bly-, kobolt-, mangan-, sink- og kalkresinater.
For oppløsning av katalysatoren anvendes monomere eller polymere heterocycliske nitrogenforbindelser. Som eksempler kan nevnes hydrerte furanforbindelser, lavmolekylære polymere og sampolymere alkylenoxyder (ethylenoxyd, propylenoxyd, epiklorhydrin, glycidylether, trioxan og tetrahydrofuran). Egnede er også enkelte modifiserte polymere, f. eks. polyethylenoxyd avsluttet med laurylalkohol eller en annen alkohol eller med ricinen-eller ricinolsulfosyre. Katalysatoren kan tilsettes ikke bare i oppløsning men også i pasta- eller pulverform.
De ved den foreliggende oppfinnelse anvendte epoxydforbindelser er spesielt i etterfølgende lavmolekylære eller høymolekylære stoffer, som minst inneholder en epoxydgruppe.
1. Glycidylethere, fremstilt ved omsetning av epiklorhydrin, methyl-klorhydrin eller glyeerin- 0(,- p. -diklor-hydrin med fenoler (fenol, cre-sol, xylenol, resorcin, hydrokinon, floroglucin) eller bisfenoler (2, 2-bis-^4-hydroxyfenyj7-propan; 2, 2-bis-^4-hydroxyfenyJ^-ethan; bis-^4-hydroxyfenyj7-9ulfon) og videre tris- og tetrakisfenoler, dvs. med kondensasjonsprodukter av fenoler eller deres homologe med glyoxal eller andre dialdehyder. Videre kan der anvendes glycidylethere som fremstilles ved omsetning av epiklorhydrin eller methylepiklorhydrin med alifatiske alkoholer eller glycoler, såsom f. eks. butylglycidyl-ether, alkylglycidylether, laurylglycidylether, cetylglycidylether, 1,4-butylen-glycol-bis-glycidylether og glycerinbisglycidylether. I denne
gruppe kan også medtas glycidylethere av fenoliske novolakker.
2. Glycidylestere, såsom f. eks. glycidylmetacrylat, glycidylacrylat, diglycidylfthalat og diglycidyladipat. 3. Epoxyderte estere av umettede carboxylsyrer, f. eks. epoxydert soya-olje og linolje og dehydrert ricinusolje.
4. Epoxyderte estere av umettede alkoholer og mettede carboxylsyrer,
f. eks. di-(2, 3-epoxybutyl)-adipat; di-(2, 3-epoxybutyl)-terefthalat og di - (2, 3 - epoxycyclohexylmethyl) -f thalat.
5. Epoxyderte estere av umettede alkoholer og umettede carboxylsyrer, såsom f. eks. 2, 3-epoxybutyl-3, 4-epoxypentanoat og 3,4-epoxy-6-methylcyclohexylmethyl-3, 4-epoxy-6-methylcyclohexencarboxylat. 6. Epoxyderte hydrocarboner, såsom f. eks. 2, 2-bis-(epoxycyclohexenyl)-propan, dicyclopentadiendioxyd, limonendioxyd, vinylcyclohexendioxyd, ethylenoxyd, propylenoxyd, butadienoxyd og lignende. 7. Epoxyderte lavmolekylære polymere konjugerte diener, såsom f. eks.
butadien og dets copolymere med styren, acrylnitriler, vinylacetat
og andre monovinylmonomere.
8. Ved siden av treleddede cycliske oxyder kommer også flerleddede oxyder i betraktning, såsom f. eks. tetrahydrofuran, ditetrahydrofurfurylfthalat, 3, 3-klor-methyloxycyclobutan og andre.
9. Epoxyderte umettede hydroaromatiske acetater og ketaler.
Som lavmolekylære reaktive stoffer som nedsetter viskositeten av epoxydkomposisjonen og endrer egenskapene av den utvundne masse, anvendes umettede, polymeriserbare stoffer. Disse er spesielt esterne eller an-hydridene av acrylsyre og metacrylsyre, styren,<X -methylstyren og deres homologe eller derivater, vinylether, vinylketon, vinylklorid, vinylidenklor-id, tetrafluorethylen, allylforbindelser, divinylbenzen og dets homologe, di-vinylketon., cyclopentadien, vinylcarbazol, inden, cumaron, vinylpyrolidon, klorpren, videre estere av 0( , -umettede dicarboxylsyrer, spesielt malein-syre og fumarsyre. Foruten de vanlige mohomere kan også deres forpoly-mere"eller oppløsninger av polymeren i monomeren anvendes.
Blandt de høymolekylære stoffer som tilsettes til de herdbare komposisjoner, er spesielt termoreaktive syntetiske harpikser egnede, såsom aminoharpikser, fenolharpikser, siliconer, umettede polyesterharpikser og oljemodifiserte alkydharpikser, estere av epoxydharpikser og furanharpikser.
Av termoplastene kan der tilsettes ployvinylacetater, polyvinylacetat, polyvinylklorid, acrylpolymere og derivater av cellulose. Modifikasjonen av de elastomere utføres med syntetisk og naturlig kautsjuk. Av de naturlige harpikser tilsettes kopaler, kolofonium, videre asfalt, bitumen og forskjellige bekharpikser.
De herdbare epoxydkomposisjoner ifølge oppfinnelsen fremstilles således at epoxydforbindelsene, som eventuelt inneholder modifiserte stoffer eller additiver, før den egentlige forarbeidelse blandes med ionekatalysatoren idet der tas hensyn til arten av utgangskomponentene, enten ved romtemperatur eller også ved forhøyet temperatur. Epoxydkomposisjonene kan med fordel anvendes som støpe- eller laminatharpikser, impregneringsoppløsning-er, klebestoffer eller kitt, sparkel- eller påstrykningsmasser eller som
masser for varmsprøytning eller hvirvelsintringsmetoden.
Når det gjelder støpeharpikser er det en fordel å anvende fyllstoffer, f. eks. malt, smeltet kvarts, kvartssand, porselenmel, feltspat og lignende. Fyllstoffet forbedrer massens varmeledningsevne og letter derved bortfør-ingen av den varmemengde som dannes ved polymerisasjonen. Vanligvis går man frem således at man tilsetter epoxydkomposisjonen den tilhørende mengde fyllstoff, deretter omrører godt og fjerner luftbobler ved oppvarmning og evakuering. Deretter tilsettes katalysatoren til den til omtrent 20°C avkjølte masse, og det blandes godt. Derved er massen klar for støpning. Systemer med reaktive katalysatorer er f. eks. meget egnede for kabelmuffer og ende-stykker. Den kjennsgjerning at reaksjonen forløper med betydelig hastighet også ved lave temperaturer muliggjør støpning også ved frost. Hittil har man måttet oppvarme kabelendestykker, hvilket er vanskelig ute i terrenget.
På tilsvarende måte er det meget fordelaktig å anvende fyllstoffer ved masser for varmsprøytning og hvirvelsintringsmetoden. Spesielt er fyllstoffer som gir massen tixotrope egenskaper, f. eks. kolloid kiselsyre, viktige. Således fremstilte overtrekk renner ikke på loddrette vegger og danner ikke dråper eller forheng.
Det samme problem er også tilstede ved lakker for overflatebeskyt-telse, som kan påføres såvel ved sprøytning med pistol som med pensel eller ved neddykning. Dessuten anvendes de fremstilte epoxydlakker også for impregnering av elektriske motorer. For fremstilling av påstrykningsmasser og impregneringsoppløsninger oppløses epoxydforbindelsene og harpiks-ene i reaktive oppløsningsmidler (i vinylmonomere eller flytende glycidylethere) eller i inerte organiske oppløsningsmidler (klorerte, alifatiske, aromatiske og hydroaromatiske hydrocarboner, videre i estere, ethere, keton-er og alkoholer). Påstrykningsmassene pigmenteres med de i faget vanlige pigmenter.
Av betydning er anvendelsen av epoxydkomposisjoner for klebestoffer, spesielt de som herdes uten anvendelse av varme. I forhold til de kle-bestofftyper som utherdes ved polyaddisjon uten anvendelse av varme, har disse epoxydkomposisjoner høyere varmefasthet. Forarbeidelsen av laminatharpikser utføres under vanlige betingelser.
For fremstilling av skummede materialer anvendes epoxydkomposisjoner med reaktive katalysatorer. Egnede er komposisjoner for hvis skunfi-ning der anvendes laverekokende oppløsningsmidler, såsom f. eks. hexan, ethylether, petrolether, freon og lignende. Skummene utmerker seg ved en betydelig hårdhet og seighet.
De ifølge oppfinnelsen fremstilte katalysatorer kan ikke bare anvendes til direkte utherdning og polymerisering av epoxydforbindelser, men de er også egnede til å påskynne reaksjonen ved utherdningsmidler av polyaddisjonstypen, f. eks. med anhydrider av polycarboxylsyrer eller fenolharpikser.
De nedenstående eksempler illustrerer noen utførelsesformer for fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen. Alle deler er på vektbasis.
A. Fremstilling av katalysatoren
Eksempel 1
I en 500 ml's trehalskolbe forsynt med rører og termometer anbringes 3 mol flussyre i form av en 38 %'ig vandig oppløsning (158,8 g). Under omrøring og effektiv kjøling med is tilsettes 1 mol borsyre (dvs. 61,84 g)
i små porsjoner. Tilsetningen reguleres således at blandingens tempera-
tur ikke overstiger 30°C. Den siste del (omtrent 15 % av den totale mengde) tilsettes uten kjøling ved en temperatur på 45 - 55°C. Den enda varme opp^ løsning (temperaturen bør ikke synke under 30°C) fortynnes med 2 deler tetrahydrofuran til 1 del reaksjonsblanding.
Eksempel 2
I en 500 ml's trehalset kolbe forsynt med rører, termometer og en skilletrakt hvis vegger er forsynt med et paraffinovertrekk, tilsettes 1 mol borsyre (61, 84 g). Under kjøling med kaldt vann tilsettes der i løpet av 1/2 time 1 mol flussyre i form av en 38 %'s vandig oppløsning. Derefter omrøres reaksjonsblandingen, og den resulterende suspensjon tildryppes litt etter litt 2 mol 38 %'s flussyre (105, 9 g) slik at temperaturen ikke overstiger 50°C. En forhøyelse av temperaturen til 100°C i kort tid har ved denne fremgangsmåte en ugunstig innflytelse på produktets kvalitet. Den siste rest, dvs. 15% flussyre, tilsettes ved en temperatur på 45 - 55°C, for å bevirke oppløsning av resten av borsyren. Den utvundne katalysator fortynnes ved en temperatur på 30 - 40°C med ditetrahydrofurfurylfthalat i forholdet 1:2.
Eksempel 3
Man går frem som -beskrevet i eksempel 1, bortsett fra at man ved tilsetningen av den siste del av borsyren avdestillerer omtrent 100 g vann ved et vakuum på 5 - 10 ml Hg og en maksimaltemperatur på 60°C.
Eksempel 4 1
Man går frem som beskrevet i eksempel 1, bortsett fra at man i stedet for å fortynne katalysatoren med tetrahydrofuran blander denne med kiselsyre som katalysatorbærer i forholdet 1:1.
Eksempel
I en 500 ml's trehalset kolbe forsynt med rører og termometer anbringes 400 g triethylenglycol. Deretter tilsettes litt etter litt under omrør-ing og effektiv kjøling med is og vann 158,8 g 38 %'s flussyre (3 mol) og, porsjonsvis, 69,6 g pulverformig boroxyd. Tilsetningshastigheten reguleres således at temperaturen ikke overstiger 45°C. Etter tilsetning av den totale mengde boroxyd får blandingen reagere ytterligere 1 time ved 50°C, hvoretter den avkjøles til 20°C.
Eksempel 6
Man går frem som beskrevet i eksempel 2, bortsett fra at fortyn-ningen skjer med polyethylenoxyd avsluttet med laurylalkohol, og som pr.
20 mol ethylenoxyd inneholder 1 mol laurylalkohol.
Eksempel 7
Man går frem som beskrevet i eksempel 2, bortsett fra at likevektsblandingen fortynnes med polypropylenoxyd med en molekylvekt på 500.
Eksempel 8
Man går frem som beskrevet i eksempel 5, bortsett fra man i stedet for 38 %'s flussyre anvender den tilsvarende mengde 100 %'ig syre.
Eksempler 9- 18
Den ifølge eksempel 1 fremstilte katalysator blandes i løpet av 10 minutter under omrøring ved 20°C med den tilsvarende mengde nitrogenholdige stoffer som angitt i tabell 1.
Ved fremstillingen av katalysatoren ifølge eksempler 10 og 18 kan man også gå frem således at man tilsetter piperidinet eller anilinet til katalysatoren uten tetrahydrofuran og at vannet avdestilleres i vakuum, helst ved hjelp av en laboratorie-filmavdamper.
Eksempel 19
I en 50 ml's trehalset kolbe forsynt med rører, termometer, til-bakeløpskjøler og skilletrakt anbringes 220,6 g katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 1 uten anvendelse av tetrahydrofuran. Under omrøring tildryppe's i løpet av 1 time 85,2 g piperidin uten at temperaturen får stige over 40°C. Deretter omrøres i ytterligere 30 minutter. Reaksjonsblandingen overføres i en 500 ml's destillasjonskolbe, og vannet avdestilleres i vakuum ved 2-5 mm Hg til en temperatur på 60°C.
Eksempel 20
Man går frem som i det foregående eksempel bare med den forskjell at der i stedet for piperidin anvendes 58, 1 g 25 %'ig vandig ammoniakk. Det utskilte krystalliserte produkt frafiltreres og tørres.
B. Fremstilling av epoxydkomposisjonene
Eksempel 21
100 deler epoxydharpiks med en molekylvekt på omtrent 400, som var fremstilt ved alkalisk kondensasjon av dien med epiklorhydrin i et mol-forhold på 1:10, oppløses i 10 deler styren og 10 deler tetrahydrofuran. Opp-løsningen tilsettes 1 del nafthensyre. Den således fremstilte oppløsning tilsettes 5 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 1, og der omrøres godt. Oppløsningen påføres ved hjelp av en lakk-sprøytepistol. Utherdningen av overtrekket finner sted i løpet av 20 - 30 minutter. Det vil oppnås et kvali-tetsovertrekk uten blærer og med høy glans. Overtrekksfilmens hårdhet økes ytterligere ved tilsetning av 3 % av et med butanol forethret melamin-formaldehydkondensat.
Eksempel 22
100 deler av den i eksempel 21 anvendte epoxydharpiks blandes med 10 deler vinylcyclohexendioxyd og 10 deler fenylglycidylether, hvoretter der tilsettes 2 % manganoctoat. Oppløsningen tilsettes 5 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 3. Utherdningen skjer i løpet av 15 - 20 minutter etter påføringen av lakken på underlaget ved hjelp av en rulle. Også i dette til-felle oppnås der et hårdt og glatt overtrekk uten blærer.
Eksempel 23
100 deler epoxydharpiks med en molekylvekt på ca. 500, fremstilt
ved alkalisk kondensasjon av dian med epiklorhydrin i molforholdet 1:2, j blandes med 25 deler styren og 10 deler butylmetacrylat. Oppløsningen tilsettes 0,3 del cumenhydroperoxyd og 5 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 2. Blandingen tilsettes ytterligere 100 deler porselensmel. Etter grundig blanding anvendes komposisjonen til støpning av kabelmuffer og en-destykker. Utherdningen finner sted i løpet av 40 - 50 minutter under dan-neise av en hard og seig gel. Harpiksen har en skyvefasthet på 6 kpcm/cm .
Eksempel 24
Man går frem som i eksempel 22, bortsett fra at man i stedet for katalysatoren fremstilt ifølge eksempel 2, anvender en katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 4.
Eksempel 25
En epoxydharpiks fremstilt ved alkalisk kondensasjon av resorcin og epiklorhydrin i molforholdet 1:2, oppvarmes ved 50°C, og der tilsettes 25 deler glycerinlinoljealkyd med en oljekjedelengde på 55 % og 5 deler po-lymert epiklorhydrin (molekylvekt 2000) pr. 100 deler harpiks. Den således fremstilte blanding tilsettes 6 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 5. Denne reaktive blanding anvendes til å klebe duralblikk. Det oppnås en skyvefasthet på 250 kpcm/cm .
Eksempel 26
Man går frem som angitt i eksempel 25, bortsett fra at katalysatoren fremstilt ifølge eksempel 5 erstattes med katalysatoren fremstilt ifølge eksempel 6, og 10 deler av alkydet erstattes med en linoljeester av en epoxydharpiks med en molekylvekt på 1500 fremstilt ved omsetning av dian med epiklorhydrin i molforholdet 1:1, 16.

Man går frem som angitt i eksempel 21, bortsett fra at der i stedet for katalysatoren fremstilt ifølge eksempel 1 anvendes en katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 8 og at der tilsettes 10 deler fenolharpiks. Utherdningen av filmen finner sted etter 10 minutter.
Eksempler 29 - 38
En epoxydharpiks med en molvekt på 400 blandes med katalysatorer
- fremstilt etter eksemplene 9 - 18 i forholdet 100 deler harpiks og 5 deler
I 'katalysator. Blandingene med forskjellige katalysatorer har ved 20 o C følg-<1 >ende støpebestandighet.
Harpiksen fremstilt med katalysatoren ifølge eksempel 18 kan med fordel utherdes ved 100°C, hvorved gelen dannes i løpet av 15 minutter.
Eksempel 39
100 deler epoxydharpiks av diantypen med en molekylvekt på 400 med 15 % ethylenglycolbisglycidylether og 3 deler polyvinylbutyral blandes med 6 deler katalysator som var fremstilt etter eksempel 10 uten anvendelse av tetrahydrofuran og som var befridd for vann ved vakuumdestillasjon. Utherdningen ved romtemperatur forløper meget langsomt, ved 120°C i løpet av 5 timer.
Eksempel 40
100 deler epoxydharpiks av diantypen med en molekylvekt på 400 blandes med 10 deler epoxydert acetal (3-vinyl-2, 4-dioxospiro-(5, 5)-9, 10-epoxyundecan), 2 deler methylfenylpolysiloxan og 6 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 19. Ved en temperatur på 150°C oppstår i løpet av 15 minutter en hard og seig gel. Reaksjonsblandingen har ved 80°C en støpebe-standighetsvarighet på minst 3 dager. Varmebestandigheten etter Vicat lig-ger ved 220°C.
Eksempel 41
100 deler epoxydharpiks fremstilt ved alkalisk kondensasjon av dian' med epiklorhydrin i molforholdet 1:1,33, med en molekylvekt på 1000, fin-males og blandes med 6 deler katalysator fremstilt ifølge eksempel 20. Massen er egnet for varmsprøytning.
Claims (4)
1. Fremgangsmåte ved fremstilling av herdbare materialer, inneholdende epoxydforbindelser eller andre cycliske oxyder, eller blandinger derav med lavmolekylære reaktive stoffer såsom umettede polymeriserbare monomere, og spesielt styren og estere av acryl- og methacrylsyre, og med høymolekylære stoffer såsom termoplastiske eller termoreaktive, syntetiske harpikser, f. eks. polyvinylacetaler, polyvinylklorid, polyvinylacetat, oljemodifiserte alkydharpikser, estere av epoxydharpiks er, fenolharpikser, aminoharpikser og siliconer, foruten med ionekatalysatorer, oppløsnings-midler, myknere, fyllstoffer og andre additiver, karakterisert ved at komposisjonen, før den egentlige forarbeidelse finner sted, blandes med en likevektsblanding som er fremstilt ved omsetning av borsyre eller boroxyd med flussyre og som tilsettes enten alene eller i nærvær av oppløsnings-midler eller bærere for katalysatoren og, på i og for seg kjent måte, reaksjonsforsinkende stoffer.
2. Fremgangsmåte ifølge påstand 1, karakterisert ved at der anvendes en likevektsblanding hvor forholdet bor:oxygen er maksimalt 1:20, fortrinnsvis fra 1:4 til 1:10.
3. Fremgangsmåte ifølge påstand 1, karakterisert ved at likevektsblandingen for å forsinke reaksjonen tilsettes nitrogenholdige reaksjonsforsinkende stoffer såsom ammoniakk og dets salter, aminer, amider av carboxylsyrer og carbonsyre, aminosyrer, lactamer, cyan- og nitrogenholdige, heterocycliske forbindelser i en sådan mengde at forholdet bor:nitro-gen blir 1:0, 1-2, eventuelt under bortskaffelse av vannet ved destillasjon.
4. Fremgangsmåte ifølge påstand 1, karakterisert ved at likevektsblandingen for å forsinke reaksjonen tilsettes organiske syrer såsom carboxylsyrer, sulfonsyrer, sulfinsyrer, fortrinnsvis med 6-16 carbonatomer i molekylet, og metallsåper såsom nafthenater, octoater og oleater av metaller.
