Abstract

An arrangement for mixing fluids from storage vessels has a mixing chamber and metering pumps in the lines from the storage vessels to the mixing chamber. The metering pumps are operated by a pneumatic cylinder and piston connected to separate supplies of relatively high pressure and relatively low pressure air. A control system feeds in alternately high pressure and low pressure air to the cylinder so that as the fluid is filled into the metering pumps, low pressure air is delivered to the driving cylinder, and as the fluids are pumped away high pressure air is put into the driving cylinder. Much less high pressure air is used than in known systems so that work can be carried out with a small capacity compressor.
