Abstract

The building comprises columns, girders and wall panels and has deep-ribbed column sections with one to four similar profiled portions to accommodate the floor plates. These are each mounted on a footplate, and leave passages between then running into the centre of the square column section. They are joined together in pairs so as to form sockets for horizontal girders joining adjacent columns, and in which the girder ends are secured. The wall panels are not secured to the columns, and are joined to each other via the passages, in which they are a clearance fit. At least two girders at right angles to each other are secured to a rigid core so that they cannot slide.
