Abstract

Wrapping machine feeds a film through tension rollers moving at the same speed exactly as that at which the clamps draw it down to the packing station inlet. There it is sheared to length and held whilst the stack of small packets is channelled into position and pushed through the inlet, the film covering thee sides. Folder knives then press the overhangs from top and bottom over the fourth side and the film joint is welded. Other folder elements turn in the side overhangs and the wrapper is welded completely.
