Abstract

La invencion se refiere a un dispositivo de frenado electromagnetico para el acero fundido que fluye en una unidad de colada continua. El dispositivo de frenado electromagnetico consiste cuando menos de una bobina (3) colocada en el lados ancho de la coquilla, la cual presenta un nucleo ferromagnetico (5) asi como cuando menos un yugo (7) asociado a este nucleo. Para limitar la oscilacion de las masas sobre los componentes de la coquilla y permitir la colocacion del freno electromagnetico en unidades de colada continua ya existentes, el freno electromagnetico consistente de yugo (7), bobina (3) y nucleo ferromagnetico (5) esta conformado de manera pivotable hacia adentro y hacia fuera por medio de dos palancas no paralelas de longitudes diferentes colocadas en o sobre la coquilla, usando un dispositivo de ajuste (6).
