Abstract

La invencion revela un nuevo proceso y un vector para el mismo, para producir una planta multicelular o celulas de plantas que tienen plastidos transformados de manera estable. Este proceso comprende transformar plastidos o celulas de plantas mediante recombinacion homologa con una molecula de ADN que permite la modificacion de ADN, siendo que la molecula de ADN comprende un fragmento de un gen que para la expresion requiere un elemento de secuencia del plastido huesped. La invencion tambien incluye el uso de nuevos inhibidores de seleccion para la transformacion del plastido, y la posibilidad de llevar a cabo series multiples de transformacion sin la acumulacion de genes resistentes.
