Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para preparar composiciones de recubrimientos de un hidrogel polimérico poliuretano-urea un hidrogel polimérico de poli(N-vinilñirrolidona); un procedimiento para preparar materiales compuesto por un substrato plástico o caucho polimérico o un substrato metálico con un recubrimiento del hidrogel mezclado sobre el mismo; y un procedimiento para preparar dispositivos médicos con un recubrimiento el hidrogel mezclado sobre los mismos. Las composiciones de recubrimiento se adhieren fuertemente a los materiales substratos y dispositivos médicos a los cuales se aplican debido a la union de una capa de union a una superficie del substrato reactivo y debido a la mezcla de los dos componentes de hidrogel. Las composiciones de recubrimiento y los materiales recubiertos son no toxicos y biocompatibles y se adaptan idealmente para el uso en aplicaciones tales como catéteres, balones de catéteres y protesis estenoticas. En tales aplicaciones, las composiciones de recubrimiento, materiales recubiertos y dispositivos médicos recubiertos realizados con ellos demuestran bajos coeficientes de rozamiento en contacto con líquidos corporales, especialmente con sangre, así como un alto grado de estabilidad.
