Abstract

Se proveen composiciones de dimetiloldimetilhidantoina, monometiloldimetilhidantoina, y dimetilhidantoina que tienen menos de 0.1% en peso de formaldehído libre basado en 100% en peso de la composicion total; y en donde la relacion en peso de dimetiloldimetilhidantoina a monometiloldimetilhidantoina varía de aproximadamente 1:1.25 a aproximadamente 3.5:1. Estas composiciones se pueden preparar (1) haciendo reaccionar dimetilhidantoina y una fuente que contiene formaldehído en donde la relacion molar del formaldehído a dimetilhidantoina varía de aproximadamente 1.1:1 a aproximadamente 1.55:1 o (2) mezclando (a) de aproximadamente 80 a aproximadamente 90% en peso de una solucion acuosa de metiloldimetilhidantoina que tiene más de aproximadamente 0.1% en peso del formaldehído libre con (b) aproximadamente 20 a aproximadamente 10% en peso de dimetilhidantoina basado en 100% en peso de solucion dimetilodimetilhidantoina acuosa y dimentilhidantoina combinada.
