Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para la oxidación de etileno con oxígeno molecular a óxido de etileno, que emplea un catalizador de plata soportada para la oxidación de etileno a óxido de etileno con oxígeno molecular, impregnando un soporte con una solución en hidrocarburo de una sal de plata de un neoácido que tiene 7 o más átomos de carbono, sustancialmente libre de agua y de dicho neoácido. Preferiblemente, el solvente de hidrocarburo es tolueno, xileno, etilbenceno, ciclohexano o cumeno.
