Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para producir un compuesto aromático derivado de octacétido, en el que el método está caracterizado porque comprende: (I) contactar in vitro en una célula huésped recombinante que comprende un gen de policétido sintasa de Tipo III (PKS) introducido recombinantemente que codifica un octacético sintasa (OKS) y en el que OKS es de un género diferente al de la célula huésped: (i) unidad de inicio y unidades extensoras adecuadas con el OKS introducido recombinante capaz de convertir las unidades de inicio y extensoras en un cotacétido no reducido en condiciones adecuadas en las que se produce in vivo el octacétido no reducido; y (II): convertir in vivo dentro de la célula huésped recombinante el octacétido no reducido de la etpa (I) en un compuesto de aglicón aromático C14-C34 mediante la participación de por lo menos una aromatasa/ciclasa que actúa in trans, en donde el compuesto de aglicón aromático de interés no es SEK4 y/o SER4B; (III): la célula huésped recombinante además comprende un gen de glicosiltransferasa que codifica una glicosiltransferasa que tiene al menos 90% de identidad de SEQ ID NO: 2 o los aminoácidos 1 a 468 de SEQ ID NO: 2, el cual glocosila el compuesto de aglicón aromático producido en la etapa (II) en el compuesto de glicósido aromático C14-C34; y (IV): aislar el compuesto de aglicón aromático de la etapa (III) para obtener una composición, en donde la composición comprende menos de 1% peso /peso de materia seca de material de célula huésped recombinante, y en donde la célula huésped recombinante es una célula vegetal o una célula fúngica filamentosa.
