Abstract

Un método para producir un compuesto aromático derivado de octacétido de interés (por ejemplo, ácido carmínico), en el que el método comprende (I): la expresión heteróloga de un gen de policétido sintasa (PKS) de tipo III introducido recombinantemente que codifica un octacétido sintasa (OKS) para obtener un octacétido no reducido in vivo dentro de la célula huésped recombinante y (II): convertir in vivo el octacétido no reducido de la etapa (I) en un compuesto aromático C14-C34 de interés (por ejemplo, ácido carmínico).
