Abstract

a presente invenção refere-se a um método para produção de um composto aromático derivado de octacetídeo de interesse (por exemplo, ácido carmínico), em que o método compreende (i): expressão heteróloga de um gene de sintase de policetídeo (pks) tipo iii recombinantemente introduzido que codifica uma sintase de octacetídeo (oks) para obter octacetídeo não reduzido in vivo na célula hospedeira recombinante e (ii): conversão in vivo do octacetídeo não reduzido da etapa (i) em um composto aromático c14-c34 de interesse (por exemplo, ácido carmínico).
