Abstract

La invención actual se refiere a un método para fabricar un sustrato recubierto con metal de cromo - óxido de cromo al depositar electrónicamente el metal de cromo - óxido de cromo recubierto en un sustrato eléctricamente conductor a partir de una solución de electrolito que comprende un compuesto de cromo trivalente y un agente quelante, en donde la solución de electrolito está libre de iones de cloruro y de un agente amortiguador de ácido bórico, el sustrato eléctricamente conductor actúa como un cátodo y un ánodo que comprende un recubrimiento catalítico de óxido de iridio o se elige un óxido de metal mezclado para reducir o eliminar la oxidación de iones de Cr(III) a iones de Cr(VI).
