Abstract
Una reacción de sustitución nucleofílica para degradar el polímero de ciclodextrina (CD) con grupos aromáticos rígidos, proporcionando polímeros que contienen CD mesoporoso de gran área superficial (P-CDPs). Los P-CDPs pueden ser usados para remover contaminantes orgánicos del agua. Encapsulando los contaminantes se forman complejos anfitrión-huésped bien definidos con selectividades complementarias para sorbentes de carbono activado (AC). Los P-CDPs pueden secuestrar rápidamente sustancias farmacéuticas, pesticidas, y otros microcontaminantes orgánicos, logrando capacidad de fijación en equilibrio en segundos con constantes de velocidad de adsorción 15 a 200 veces mayores que los ACs y los sorbentes de CD no porosos. El polímero CD puede regenerarse varias veces, a través del procedimiento de lavado a temperatura ambiente, sin pérdida de eficacia.
