Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para clasificar un paciente con cáncer de riñón como tendiendo un riesgo superior de recurrencia o un riesgo inferior de recurrencia, caracterizado porque comprende: medir un nivel de transcriptos de ARN de los genes de subconjuntos de genes en una muestra de tumor obtenida del paciente; en donde los subconjuntos de genes son un grupo de gen de normalización vascular, un grupo de respuesta inmunitaria, un grupo de gen de crecimiento / división celular, e IL-6; en donde los genes del grupo de gen de normalización vascular son: APOLD1, EDNRB, NOS3, y PPAP2B, y los genes del grupo de gen de respuesta inmunitaria son: CCL5, CEACAM1, y CX3CL1, y los genes del grupo de gen de crecimiento / división celular son: EIF4EBP1, LMNB1, y TUBB2A; calcular un puntaje de recurrencia al usar el siguiente algoritmo: RS = -0.45 x puntaje del grupo de gen de normalización vascular -0.31 x puntaje del grupo de gen de respuesta inmunitaria + 0.27 x puntaje del grupo de gen de crecimiento/división celular +0.04 x IL5 en donde : puntaje del grupo de gen de normalización vascular =(0.5APOLD1 + 0.5 EDNRB+NOS3 + PPAP2B) /4 puntaje del grupo de gen de crecimiento/división celular = (EIF4EBP1 +1.3LMNB1 + TUBB2A) /3; y puntaje del grupo de gen de respuesta inmunitaria = (0.5CCL5* CEACAM1 + CX3CL1) 3; y clasificar al paciente como riesgo inferior o riesgo superior con base en el puntaje de recurrencia por comparación con riesgo de población promedio para pacientes con cáncer de riñón.
