Abstract
La invención se refiere a proteínas antiporter de protones/azúcar tonoplastidarias, en particular proteínas antiporter de protones/sacarosa tonoplastidarias, a las secuencias de nucleótido que las codifica y a sus usos para producir plantas transgénicas con una mayor concentración de sacarosa. La invención comprende también métodos para producir plantas transgénicas con una mayor concentración de sacarosa, métodos para elevar la concentración de sacarosa en plantas, así como para identificar plantas que son adecuadas para producir una mayor concentración de sacarosa.
