Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a plantas de la familia de cucurbitáceas y semillas de tales plantas que tienen un fenotipo androceo incluso aunque este tipo de sexo no es natural en dichas plantas la invención se refiere además al uso de las plantas y las semillas de plantas de la invención. La invención se refiere además a la secuencia de ácido nucleico responsable del rasgo androceo en las plantas de la invención y al polipéptido codificado por dicha secuencia de ácido nucleico. Finalmente, la invención se refiere a métodos para identificar las plantas y semillas de la invención.
