Abstract
Un procedimiento para recuperar petróleo de una formación que tiene petróleo, que comprende introducir en dicha formación una composición acuosa que comprende por lo menos un derivado sulfonado de una o más olefinas internas, dichas olefinas internas caracterizadas porque tienen cantidades bajas de trisustitución sobre el enlace olefinico, dicho derivado sulfonado siendo obtenido por sulfonación de una composición que comprende olefinas internas de la fórmula: R1R2C=CR3R4, en donde R1, R2, R3 y son iguales o diferentes y son hidrógeno o grupos hidrocarbilos saturados de cadena recta o ramificada, y el número total de átomos de carbono de R1, R2, R3 y R4 es de 6 a 44, con la condición de que por lo menos aproximadamente 96 por ciento molar de R' y R3 son grupos hidrocarbilos saturados de cadena recta o ramificada, y por lo menos aproximadamente 96 por ciento molar de R2 y R4 son hidrógeno; también se proveen composiciones para usarse en la recuperación de petróleo de una formación que tiene petróleo.
