Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para segmentar la superficie de una llanta incluyendo por lo menos una ranura. El método comprende irradiar una porción de la superficie de la llanta por medio de una radiación electromagnética teniendo una longitud de onda en el espectro visible, adquirir una imagen de la porción irradiada de la superficie y procesar la imagen como para segmentar esta en regiones que corresponden a regiones de la llanta las cuales pertenecen o no a por lo menos una ranura. Adicionalmente, procesar la imagen como para segmentarla y esto incluye calcular una cantidad estadística asociada con la irradiación de la radiación electromagnética para cada región de la imagen, y determinar sí la región de imagen pertenece o no a por lo menos una ranura de acuerdo al valor de la cantidad estadística. La invención también se refiere a un equipo para segmentar una superficie de una llanta incluyendo por lo menos una ranura.
