Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a a un aparato y método que incluye una perfiladora de rodillos con rodillos configurados para formar una viga estructural a partir del material con forma de hoja, y una unidad de recorrido para recorrer longitudinalmente una viga en cualquiera de las direcciones vertical, horizontal, o una combinación de las direcciones. La unidad de recorrido tiene un primer par de rodillos conformadores colocados para acoplar los primeros lados opuestos de la viga estructural y tiene un segundo par de rodillos conformadores colocados para acoplar los segundos lados opuestos de la viga estructural. La unidad de recorrido soporta moviblemente el primer y segundo pares de rodillos conformadores de modo que cualquiera seleccionado de los rodillos conformadores acoplen continuamente un lado asociado de la viga estructural mientras que uno asociado de los rodillos conformadores opuestos a un rodillo conformador seleccionado se mueve corriente abajo y alrededor del primer rodillo conformador seleccionado. Esto proporciona una condición de doblez de la viga muy estable que promueve la estabilidad dimensional durante el proceso de recorrido, y por consiguiente una exactitud y repetibilidad dimensional.
