Abstract

Un proceso para purificar etilenglicol de grado de poliéster a partir de etilenglicol bruto que contiene al menos un primer componente y un segundo componente que tienen un punto de ebullición por debajo de aquel del etilenglicol que incluye (a) proporcionar una corriente de etilenglicol bruto mediante la despolimerización del tereftalato de polietileno en un proceso de reciclaje químico; (b) introducir la corriente de etilenglicol bruto en una primera columna de destilación para destilar el primer componente y retirar el primer componente del proceso; (c) extraer una primera corriente de la porción inferior de la primera columna de destilación y alimentar la primera corriente a una segunda columna de destilación para destilar el segundo componente y retirar el segundo componente del proceso; (d) extraer una segunda corriente de la porción inferior de la segunda columna de destilación y alimentar la segunda corriente a una tercera columna de destilación; y (e) recuperar el etilenglicol del grado del poliéster de la tercera columna de destilación.
