Un método para formar un objeto, que comprende los pasos de: - proporcionar un molde (1; 101; 201; 301; 401; 501) que comprende una primera parte del molde (2; 102; 202; 302; 502) y una segunda parte del molde (3; 103; 203; 303; 503) opuestas a entre sí, una parte seleccionada entre la primera parte del molde y la segunda parte del molde comprendiendo una pluralidad de sectores (8; 108; 208; 308; 508) para conformar al menos una porción lateral del objeto, delimitando los sectores una región de formación de volumen variable (4) del molde; - posicionar una cantidad dosificada (100; 400; 500) de material moldeable entre la primera parte del molde y la segunda parte del molde mientras el molde está en una posición abierta; - desplazar la primera parte del molde y la segunda parte del molde una hacia la otra en una dirección de moldeo (D), para definir entre la primera parte del molde y la segunda parte del molde una cámara de formación cerrada (17) que pone en contacto las respectivas superficies de apoyo (71, 72; 571, 572) de la primera parte del molde y la segunda parte del molde, extendiéndose las superficies de apoyo transversalmente a la dirección de moldeo, el método comprende además el paso de mover los sectores transversalmente a la dirección de moldeo para reducir el volumen de la región de formación de volumen variable; el molde comprende un componente de formación (15; 115; 215; 315; 515) que penetra en la región de formación de volumen variable, comprimiendo el material moldeable en la dirección de moldeo.
