Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso para producir ácido acético que es capaz de disminuir la composición en masa de acetaldehído en el ácido acético; el proceso para producir ácido acético de acuerdo con la presente invención comprende al menos una etapa de destilación que satisface las siguientes condiciones de funcionamiento: i) la temperatura en una porción inferior de la columna de destilación no es inferior a 40 °C; ii) la composición en masa de agua en la corriente inferior no es inferior al 0.3 % en peso; o iii) la composición en masa de ácido acético en la corriente inferior sobre una base de porcentaje en peso es mayor que la composición en masa de ácido acético en la primera mezcla; en donde la composición en masa de metanol en la primera mezcla es inferior o igual al 2 % en peso.
