Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso de fermentación para la fermentación de al menos un microorganismo, en donde el proceso de fermentación comprende las etapas de (a) permitir que un caldo de fermentación que comprende el al menos un microorganismo fluya en el reactor de fermentación; (b) suministrar un sustrato de carbono al reactor de fermentación que permite al sustrato de carbono gaseoso disolverse, o disolverse parcialmente, en el caldo de fermentación; (c) suministrar un sustrato de nitrógeno al reactor de fermentación que permite al sustrato de nitrógeno gaseoso disolverse, o disolverse parcialmente, en el caldo de fermentación; y (d) mantener una concentración de nitrato del caldo de fermentación por debajo de 0.035 g/l y/o mantener una concentración de nitrato del caldo de fermentación por debajo 0.01 g de nitrato/g de biomasa; en donde el al menos un organismo metanotrófico comprende al menos un microorganismo metanotrófico.
