Abstract
Se describe un aparato de enfriamiento de hierro briqueteado en caliente. El aparato de enfriamiento incluye un cuerpo giratorio cilíndrico que gira mientras está inclinado de tal manera que una sección de salida a través de la cual es descargado el hierro briqueteado en caliente, enfriado, mira hacia arriba, e incluye una placa de control del nivel de agua formada debajo de una sección de carga de hierro briqueteado en caliente, para retener un refrigerante predeterminado; una cuchilla formada a lo largo de una superficie circunferencial interior del cuerpo giratorio para guiar el hierro briqueteado en caliente, introducido en el mismo, hacia la sección de salida; y un módulo de rociado de refrigerante que incluye una pluralidad de boquillas de rociado que controlan diferencialmente una cantidad de refrigerante rociado hacia dentro desde la sección de salida. El hierro briqueteado en caliente es enfriado principalmente por el refrigerante retenido, es guiado por la cuchilla y, en segundo lugar, es enfriado por las boquillas de rociado de refrigerante, maximizando así la eficiencia de enfriamiento del hierro briqueteado en caliente durante un proceso de enfriamiento y minimizando así el consumo de refrigerante.
