Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a composiciones de alimento para mascotas co-extruidas y/o a métodos para producir las mismas. La invención proporciona, por ejemplo, un método para producir un alimento para mascotas, que comprende: (i) extruir una primera composición desde un primer extrusor a través de un troquel a una primera velocidad de salida del troquel; y (ii) extruir una segunda composición desde un segundo extrusor a través del troquel a una segunda velocidad de salida del troquel, en donde la primera velocidad de salida del troquel es mayor que la segunda velocidad de salida del troquel, para producir un alimento para mascotas co-extruido que comprende aproximadamente 30% a aproximadamente 50%, en peso, de la primera composición y aproximadamente 50% a aproximadamente 70%, en peso, de la segunda composición. Además, las composiciones de alimento para mascotas co-extruidas de la presente invención pueden incluir, por ejemplo, al menos aproximadamente 3% de queso y/o al menos aproximadamente 5% de tocino.
