Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición de biocontrol de enfermedades vegetales formulad para la administración que comprende un agente amortiguador de p H, y al menos dos aislados de bacteriófago del tipo de fago Xfas100 o del tipo de fago Xfas300, o ambos; en donde cada uno de dichos aislados de bacteriófago es virulento para Xylella fastidiosa y especies de Xanthomonas, y los bacteriófagos son capaces de lisar dicha Xylella fastidiosa o bacterias Xanthomonas, en donde adicionalmente el tipo de fago Xfas100 presenta las siguientes características: (a) el bacteriófago infecta una célula mediante su unión a un pelo de Tipo IV; (b) el bacteriófago comprende una cola no contráctil y un tamaño de cápside que caría en un rango d 55-77 nm en diámetro y pertenece a la familia Siphoviridae; (c) el tamaño genómico del bacteriófago es de aproximadamente 55500 pb a 56200 pb; y (d) el bacteriófago previene o reduce los síntomas asociados con la enfermedad de Pierce en una planta o plantas; y en donde adicionalmente el tipo de fago Xfas300 presente las siguientes características: ( e) el bacteriófago infecta una célula mediante su unión a un pelo de Tipo IV; (f) el bacteriófago comprende una cola no contráctil y un tamaño de cápside que varía en un rango de 58-68 nm en diámetro y pertenece a la familia Podoviridae, (g) el tamaño genómico del bacteriófago es de aproximadamente 43300 pb a 44600 pb; y (h) el bacteriófago previene o reduce los síntomas asociados con la enfermedad de Pierce en una planta o plantas.
