Abstract

Un vehículo tiene uno o más acelerómetros para detectar la aceleración de un componente del chasis. Además, se proporcionan en el vehículo uno o más sensores separados. Un controlador está programado para recibir una señal que indique aceleración desde uno o más acelerómetros, donde la aceleración está entre un umbral inferior que indica el funcionamiento normal del vehículo y un umbral superior que de otro modo dispararía dispositivos de seguridad, tales como bolsas de aire. Cuando la aceleración está entre los umbrales, se puede crear o enviar localmente una señal de daño potencial en el chasis. A continuación, el controlador valida la señal de daño potencial en el chasis en base a las señales recibidas de los sensores separados.
