Abstract
La invención se relaciona a un aceite de baja viscosidad que comprende más de 50% en peso de 9-metil-11-octil-heneicosano así como también una composición lubricante que comprende el aceite base y opcionalmente otro aceite base o un aditivo. El aceite de conformidad con la invención tiene una viscosidad cinemática en 100°C, medida de acuerdo al estándar ASTM D445, en el intervalo de 3 a 4 mm2/s-1. La invención también se relaciona a un aceite de baja viscosidad de acuerdo a un método específico usando un catalizador de metaloceno así como también el uso del aceite como un lubricante de alto rendimiento para lubricación en los campos de motores, engranajes, frenos, fluidos hidráulicos, refrigerantes y vaselinas.
