Abstract
La presente invención se refiere en parte con el sorprendente descubrimiento que Cry1Da es activa contra el gusano de la mazorca del maíz (CEW), Helicoverpa zea (Boddie). Se describen los métodos para usar Cry1Da en plantas transgénicas para evitar serios daños a los cultivos. Bioensayos de las hojas y sedas utilizando maíz transgénico que expresa Cry1Da de longitud completa, de región de toxina central o quimérica demostraron buena protección insecticida contra el daño producido por larvas CEW.
