Abstract

Proteínas cry inseticidas cry1ca modificadas. A presente invenção refere-se a proteínas inseticidas cry1ca de b.t. Modificadas, icnluindo as proteínas designadas aqui como dig-109 e dig-152, bem como variantes de dig-109 e dig-152, ácidos nucleicos que codificam essas proteínas, métodos de controle de pestes usando as proteínas, métodos de produção das proteínas em células hospedeiras transgênicas, e plantas transgênicas que produzem as proteínas. As proteínas dig-109e dig-152 compreendem peptídeos quiméricos compostos de um segmento de toxina central cry1ca de b.t. E um segmento de pró-toxina cry1ab. Variantes inseticidamente ativas das proteínas dig-109 e dig-152 são também descritas.
