Abstract
Proteínas Cry1Ca de B.t. insecticidas, modificadas, que incluyen las proteínas designadas como DIG-109 y DIG-152, así como también variantes de DIG-109 y DIG-152, ácidos nucleicos que codifican estas proteínas, métodos para controlar pestes de insectos lepidopteros utilizando las proteínas, métodos para producir las proteínas en células huéspedes transgénicas, y plantas transgénicas que producen las proteínas. Las proteínas DIG-109 y DIG-152 comprenden péptidos quiméricos compuestos por un segmento de toxina nucleo de Cry1Ca de B.t. y un segmento de protoxina Cry1Ab. También se describen variantes insecticidamente activas de las proteínas DIG-109 y DIG-152.
