Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a polioles de PIPA que se hacen en un proceso de dos etapas. En la primera etapa, un poliéter poliol base y un poliisocianato se hacen reaccionar para formar una mezcla que contiene poliol base sin reaccionar, poliisocianato sin reaccionar y aductos del poliol base y poliisocianato. Luego se afíade un poliol de bajo peso equivalente y se hace reaccionar en una segunda etapa para formar la dispersión. El proceso inesperadamente produce una dispersión estable de las partículas finas de PIPA en el poliol base, incluso cuando el poliol base contiene grupos hidroxilo secundarios principalmente. El proceso también permite la afinación de la viscosidad del producto, aumentando o disminuyendo la extensión de reacción en la primera etapa.
