Abstract

Un limitador de flujo para usarse en un ensamble de válvula de alivio de presión operada por piloto (PQRV por sus siglas en inglés) con una válvula piloto que regula la operación de una válvula principal para reducir presión en un sistema o recipiente; en una modalidad, el limitador de flujo está configurado con una pluralidad de regiones modificadoras de flujo, es decir, una primera región y una segunda región que está separada de la primera región; estas regiones están configuradas para generar flujo en la salida del limitador de flujo que induce una operación de la válvula piloto que es favorable para la operación de la válvula principal; en un ejemplo, la primera región y la segunda región definen, respectivamente, una primera área de flujo y una segunda área de flujo de la ruta de flujo, en donde cada una está configurada para asignar a una proporción entre la segunda área de flujo y la primera área de flujo un valor menor a 10.
