Abstract
Se proporcionan composiciones que comprenden una colección de partículas recubiertas, en donde las partículas recubiertas comprenden un ingrediente activo disperso en una matriz de resina; y un recubrimiento que comprende por lo menos un compuesto hidrófobo. También se proporcionan métodos para preparar composiciones que comprenden: (a) mezclar un ingrediente activo (por ejemplo, polvo de complejo de 1- MCP) con resina a una temperatura ligeramente superior al punto de fusión de la resina; (b) suministrar la mezcla en un medio de aceite que contiene partículas hidrófobas al cortar y obtener una dispersión de aceite; y (c) consolidar las partículas de resina mediante enfriamiento. De esta manera, el ingrediente activo (por ejemplo, polvo de complejo de 1 -MCP) se incorpora en las esferas de matriz de resina, y las partículas hidrófobas, que también sirven como emulsionante de Pickering para estabilizar las esferas de matriz, forman una capa de recubrimiento alrededor de las esferas de matriz para proporcionar protección contra el agua. De esta manera, la esfera se compone de la partícula "Pickering" y matriz de resina, en la que se incorpora el ingrediente activo.
